A Belgian view ...
Being on holiday in Belgium, we took the opportunity and dropped MsLollipop at the grandparents and Mr2M respectively, to enjoy a few days just the 2 of us, MrGuzzi and me.

I needed this break and was really looking forward to this!

We did not go far.
Nothing exotic.
Nothing fancy.

A mere 2hour drive from Antwerp we arrived at "De Ardennen", in the south of Belgium, hilly and full of green woods and hours of walks .

Yes, they speak French here.
No, we are not on a brink of war with the South.

It's a great place for long extensive walks, and long extensive talks. Lazy mornings, breakfast in bed, and newspapers reads.

It was just what we needed: a break.

On day 1 we walked 7 km in 2 hours.
The scenery was beautiful! So different from Singapore.
50 shades of green , my eyes were drunk with impressions of the scenery.
I love this area.

On day 2 we walked 12 km up and down the hills through woods, over little streams, and past small authentic houses.
4 hours, and my legs felt a bit soar....

Today we plan a 15 km walk.

Still leading. Reading the map.
The town where we are lodged is called "Spa" and it is known for its springs and wells.
The most famous being "Barisart" ( yummy Belgian sparkling water) and "Reine" (which means queen, our delicious Belgian still water).
Spa is known for its "thermes de Spa", and since ages people come here bathe in these healthy waters.
I was looking up the word "kuuroord" in English and it is ... a spa.
I guess there is no need for further explanation.

Beside these the area is full of little wells. Some are more visible and usable than others. All provide pure drinking water.
We visited a few of them.
Yes, we drank the water.
Yes, they all taste a bit different.
They smelled a bit funny too...

Tomorrow we head back 'home' to pick up MsLollipop. To hug her tight, smell her hair, and join her sparkling laugh. Tomorrow I will realise how much I missed her.
But not today, not yet, not now.
Today is still "me" time and "me and MrGuzzi" time.
A time to cherish, and indulge.
A time to harge our batteries.

Do you have enough "me" and "us" time?

Enjoy it
